American Television: Let’s Play Two

Let's Play

A music review

A virginia pop punk/alt punk band based in DC, American Television has come out with a nice two song EP just a few days ago! This is about as classic of a pop punk album there is, but with some strong 90’s rock influences. Influences of Rancid, The Descendents, Harvey Danger, and many others. Not to say they don’t have their own unique sound, American Television is a very upbeat and fun band to listen to. The first track, Optimist, has a lot of ncie structures, backing vocals, walking bass lines and of course the drumming is excellent. I feel that pop punk drummers are some of the most underrated drummers out there. It takes a serious amount of skill and timing to be able to play in this style, and American Television has that down for all two songs. Although this may be only two songs, there’s a music video! Check that out here!

Seriously, that music video is awesome. This is a fun release from American Television, and I’m really excited to see what’s next.
